The current type of removable mesh pool fence in the pool fence market operates on tension. This means the mesh fabric will be a bit tighter in cold weather and then lose some tension in warm weather. We have been told by engineers that a conventional, single pole designed gate would require constant adjustment over time.

  REMOVABLE MESH POOL FENCE HARDWARE:
Latch: The ONLY latch we use with our removable mesh pool fences is the MAGNA LATCH. It operates magnetically and is key lockable. Every removable mesh pool fence we have shipped since going into production in 1996 has used the MAGNA LATCH as its latching mechanism.

 
The gate is the most important part of any fence system! We had to know our removable mesh pool gate would close each time. The double-pole truss on both sides of the gate allows for fluctuations in tension without the constant need for adjustments. Amazingly, fabric tension is not a factor in the operation of our removable mesh pool fence. We also designed this pool fence gate without a top cross-bar, making it impossible for toddlers to climb!

The latch we selected for our removable mesh pool fence system is made in Australia. The manufacturer markets this latch as "The World's Safest Pool Gate Latch." and we agree completely.

          
Nothing we have seen in latching systems today comes close to the sophisticated operation and design of this special latch. This key-lockable latch is magnetic and non-mechanical. It also won the Silver Medal in 1992 at the International Inventors Convention in Geneva, Switzerland, and won the Australian Design Award.

This latch also exceeds the Barrier Code standard requirements of the NSPI and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The same company also makes tension adjustable hinges that have also won the Australian Design Award. Without this special hardware, we this removable mesh pool fence have never been created.
