Above Ground Pool Fence

Guardian Pool Fence Systems PREMIER LINE of pool fencing is the best pool fence for installation in wood deck and the new composite decks that have become so popular in the last few years.

The reason the Premier Line fence works so well on these types of decks has to do with the size of the hole needed to be drilled into the deck. Drilling a 5/8” hole into these decks will not affect the integrity of the deck or compromise the deck strength. There are a few things that must be taken into consideration before you decide on this pool fence for your pool area.

Below are the primary things to consider:

1. The thickness of the existing wood deck may not be adequate to support our pool fence pole stainless steel pin. Therefore, you should have access UNDER the deck where the fence is going to be located. You may have to “block” the sleeves with additional wood to stabilize the fence poles. If you are going to use our Premier Pool Fence Gate, then it does become a requirement to have access under the deck for “blocking” purposes.

2. If you determine that you can’t get under the deck where the fence and gate are going to be located, there is one other alternative. Place a strip of wood on top of the deck and install the fencing system in the wood strip. An example of this is the photo (right) with the beige colored gate and brown fence. This fence was installed into wood strips placed on top of the deck. The strips were painted to match the deck and then drilled by our dealer. This installation is located in Oahu, Hawaii.
